Living On Oxygen for Life

Today is Random Picture Day. It’s where I post one picture from my life and show you what my life is like. Since today is the first day for this, I thought I’d post a bonus picture! Lucky you! haha! I use oxygen 24/7, 365 days a year although sometimes I take my oxygen off for pictures. The reason for this is because when my time on Earth is over and people are looking at the pictures I’m in, I want them (especially my husband) to remember first and foremost the fun and happy times we’ve had together. It’s how I want to be remembered. It’s a personal thing for me. It’s not because I have a vanity complex or that I’m embarrassed to have pictures taken with my oxygen on because that’s not the case. I am who I am and I’m proud of it and the things I’ve accomplished.

Ok, now about this picture. My husband, K , and I went to Clearwater Beach, FL for one of our vacations about 3 or 4 years ago. There is an aquarium there that rescues, rehabilitates and then releases the water animals they find injured or in trouble. My husband’s favorite are otters. They sure are cute and swim so fast. What I’m holding in the picture is a prothetic dolphin tail fin. It was specially designed for the dolphin named Winter who stared in the movie, Dolphin Tale. I couldn’t believe the staff let me hold it. The feel of it was so strange. The body of it was soft and indescribable.. maybe silicon-like. It reminded me of the Milwaukee Back Brace I had to wear when I was a child.Β That day I got to take pictures petting the dolphin Panama. That was amazing! I touched stingrays too!

  1. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You are indeed very inspiring. I try to live my life as close to what used to be my normal lifestyle. Will fill you in more later. Keep the frequent posts coming, they are enjoyed..Have a good day.

    • Hello Springergirl! I really enjoy writing this blog but there are times when I struggle with coming up with a new topic. I want my blog about living on oxygen to be different and fun but informative. I thank you so much for your very kind words. I truly care about those who read this blog. Not only them but those who stop me wherever I am to ask me questions about my oxygen and oxygen needs. I can remember what it was like when I first started at age 17. When that need for oxygen turned to be 24/7, it was a rough blow to my confidence. It’s been a learning experience over the years. I’m glad to help you in whatever way I can and I’m so happy to know that you were able to go on your first vacation while on oxygen. I will definitely continue to share my adventures on my blog. πŸ˜‰
