During stressful times and especially during the winter season, I love to crochet. Generally, I will give away the afghans I make. I also love to do the crafts that don’t take too much energy. But, for me, crocheting really helps relieve stress. I’ve been pretty busy this season creating afghans. One of them I gave to a wonderful young woman who just went through a double lung transplant. I also crochet afghans and hats for my local Children’s Hospital. I’ve started collecting little river rocks to paint on. Not that I’m great at painting or drawing for that matter but it makes me happy. So, I do it! What do you do for a hobby?

    • Thank you Roxanne! I really enjoy crocheting and making crafts. Giving them away just brings me such joy. I’m glad those kitty beds are holding up for your kitties! I’m impressed! I’ll try to make some space in my craft room so I can make you some cat toys. I think you ROCK too! *huge hugs* Have a fun but safe New Year’s Eve and a wonderful 2013!

  1. Hi Christine! That is some lovely work you have done there with your crocheting. I used to crochet but I am more into bead work and jewelry making now. I also enjoy photography, and making slide shows, and websites. Some days I feel well enough to sit at the desk and create other times my mind wants to but my body wont cooperate. I struggle to find the happy medium because I so enjoy to see my finished creations.
    hope you are well.

    • Hi Bella,
Thank you for the compliment on my crocheted afghans. I think I am going to start calling them “Wrap Yourself in a Hug.” What do you think? I make them to give them away to those who are sick and need something to give them a smile. I tried jewelry making but I’m just not that good at it. My hands get too shaky. You must have a lot of patience to do that. I know exactly what you mean when you say that your mind wants to do all these things but your body doesn’t seem to want to cooperate. It’s so frustrating. I love taking photographs and then turn them into photobooks at Shutterfly.com which is so fun! I make them for my husband and my vacations and also for my older sister’s daughter as she grows each year. It’s great! We seem to be a lot alike! =o) You take care of yourself. Keep posting on your blog. I enjoy reading it.

      • Good morning! Yes, I like that name very much. I bet there are a bunch of little premature babies that would love little afghans and maybe matching caps too!
Yes, my hands are actually quite painful, but I refuse to give up making the bead work. I just have to do it slower.
I switch back and forth to video, etc which is much easier on my hands. I even made some videos of pictures of my jewelry, LOL!
Im going to try to blog today. Its been a bad 2 weeks and Ive been bottled up.
Thank you for your kind conversation.

  2. I have started TRYING to carve wooden spoons. They aren’t easy to do and the special hook knives are very expensive. Right now I am working on a wee scoop to use with my homemade toothpaste that I make.

  3. Wow what talent you have,I very impressed,I waste so much time in a day and I see you make really neat things!hop you got my email explaining myself more
